Pine Trees de la Rambla de los Rincones
We can find large Aleppo pines (Pinus halepensis) with a trunk diameter of 1,30 metres: 4,25 metres, reaching up to 18 metres of height and 19 metres of crown width. They have twisted trunks with some visible roots and two main branches with secondary ones. The crown slants to Northwest. They are located in the edge of Rambla de los Rincones, with reeds, genistas, tor-grasses and other plants, within proximity to the road A-14. Their conifer cones are eaten by squirrels.
Pine Trees of la Casa del Guarda in Monte Arabí
We can find large Aleppo pines (Pinus halepensis) with a trunk diameter (1,30 metres): 3,34 metres and about 14 metres high. This variety of tree is located next to a road leading to the Casa del Guarda (“the house of the guard”) in Monte Arabí and to some close pens with Aleppo pines, esparto field, rosemary, juniper, etc.
Pine Trees of Casas Nuevas
We can find large Aleppo pines (Pinus halepensis) with has a trunk diameter of 1,30 metres: 3,36 metres They are located in an agricultural area, between almond trees and vineyards. A tertiary road passes through their crown, very close to the trunk.
Pino del Elefante
It’s an Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis) of medium dimensions making the shape of an elephant’s head. This variety of tree is partially hanging over the vertical of a slope formed by the backdrop of the ravine, 7 metres high. It has variable trunk diameter of 1,25 metres (1 m) approximately, and 9 metres of total height. This tree of whimsical shape has a leaning trunk with visible roots. It is located in the Rambla de Tobarrillas, next to the Viña del lobo, surrounded by pine wood and brushwood and some ponds.
Stone Pine of Boquera del Carche
It’s a large stone pine (Pinus pinea) with a perimeter of 3,25 metres (at 1,30 metres) and it is 19,20 metres high. It’s an umbrella-shaped tree which has a mark on the lowest part of the trunk, caused by a lightning bolt. This type of tree is located in the shared lands of the Casas of la Boquera del Carche. There is a well 4 metres from its trunk. Several roads pass next to the well. You can find this variety of tree in a typically farming environment surrounded by vineyards and cereal plants.
Holm Oak of Fuente del Pinar
It’s a very large holm oak (Quercus ilex) with a trunk diameter of 1,30 metres: 2,30 metres and it’s about 10 metres high. The maximum width of the crown is approximately 15,3 metres. It has a trunk with three main branches and roots which can be slightly seen. This variety of tree has a very large, umbrella-shaped crown, round and well-formed. It is located in a forest area dominated by esparto field and areas where parent rock appears next to a small valley devoted to vine growing in bush vineyards.
Gall-Oak of Sierra Salinas
It’s a specimen of gall-oak (Quercus faginea), with a trunk diameter of 1.11 (1 m high), 9 metres high and 7,15 of maximum crown width. At a height of 1,30 metres, the trunk splits off in two main sub vertical branches. It’s located in the shaded spots of Sierra Salina, in an area of shady vegetation, formed by pine trees, holm oaks, strawberry trees, Viburnum tinus, kermes oak…etc.
Elm Tree of Carretera de Almansa
It’s a very large elm tree (Ulmus minor) with a trunk diameter of 1,30 metres: 4,05 metres; the tree is about 23 metres high with a maximum crown width of 26,50 metres. At a height of 8 metres some of its main branches grow up from the trunk, although there are other low branches of smaller size. There are three other medium-sized examples. Located next to the roadside asphalt edge of the “Carretera de Almansa”, part of the crown covers the road, as well as the gardens of a house near it.
