Yecla hosts a lot of events throughout the year. From music events of great impact in the media to well-known sporting events due to the high number of volunteers which take part in its organization or other events which bring professionals from more than 20 countries to Yecla. There are several thematic areas to which all these events are related: running, hiking, jazz, archaeological discoveries, “tapas” and wine. Jornadas de vino y cuchara

Las Jornadas de Vino y Cuchara are also carried out among the establishments and restaurant businesses associated with Yecla Wine Route. It consists of tasting succulent traditional stews paired with Designation of Origin Yecla wines. Taste the best traditional stews in Yecla by accompanying them with the best wines of Yecla.

National Cross Fiestas de la Virgen

It’s celebrated in December and it gathers the best cross-country runners in Spain. In fact, it is the only competition in the Region of Murcia which is part of the calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. It’s a sporting event of national importance for the most competitive runners.

Wine and Tapas Route

Try the best and most well-prepared tapas of Yecla, accompanied by our Yecla DO wine. The event is held at partner establishments associated with the Yecla Wine Route. It consists in tasting a special tapa created by each establishment, along with a glass of Yecla DO wine at a reduced price.

The Bicycle Day

The Bicycle Day, a day when lots of parents go out onto the streets with their children to enjoy this two-wheeled sport.

Open Houses on Archaeology

During the celebration of September’s fair, The Department of Culture plans open houses on archaeology. This activity consists of a series of guided tours to different archaeological sites in the municipality of Yecla.

Yecla Furniture Fair

Each September Yecla hosts its Furniture Fair, which was the first one in Spain and which is nowadays the most ancient one in Spain. The fair lasts for several days and concludes with an open day for particular customers. This is an excellent opportunity to see the furniture sector from Yecla summarized and kept in 17,000 square metres.
