Pocico de la Buitrera (Monte Arabí)

The well is situated 18 kilometres northwest of the town centre, at the foot of the northern slope of Monte Arabí.

What’s so special about it?:
It’s a spring or well of natural recharge. It’s closely linked to Monte Arabí. Some fossils can be found in the surroundings.

Description:
It’s a municipal well with water, in a circular shape, with a diameter of 1,2 metres, made of dry stone and 2,5 metres deep. It has a parapet more or less triangular, 0,40 metres high. It’s located next to a path, between the croplands and the boundaries of the mountain, in the riverbed of a ravine joining downstream the Rambla del Arabí (Arabi’s ravine). You can find a sandy land, with bulrush (Scirpus holoschoenus), ephedra, rosemary, houseleek, Globularia alypum…etc. It was restored by the town council in 2014.
