What’s so special about it?:
It’s a specimen of moderate size, although it’s one of the biggest in the municipality. This variety of tree represents one of the best examples of the species in Sierra Salinas, the only place in the Region of the Altiplano (Jumilla-Yecla) where this species can be naturally found.


Description:
It’s a specimen of gall-oak (Quercus faginea), with a trunk diameter of 1.11 (1 m high), 9 metres high and 7,15 of maximum crown width. At a height of 1,30 metres, the trunk splits off in two main sub vertical branches. It’s located in the shaded spots of Sierra Salina, in an area of shady vegetation, formed by pine trees, holm oaks, strawberry trees, Viburnum tinus, kermes oak…etc.
